no_name, user_name, id_name
determines how entity names are handled when an object is exported to the step format from the part or assembly mode. you can assign a name to an entity in a step file before export. you can give unique names to pro/engineer datum points, datum axes, datum curves, surfaces, edges, and quilts.
the receiving system can use this information to identify entities or reference these names in other programs that read step data. the name of an entity propagates throughout all of the entities used to define the top-level entity name in pro/engineer. for example, a surface named topsurf would also have boundary curves named topsurf.
no_nameodoes not export entity names (a null value appears).
user_nameoyou can assign names for the step entities. entities not assigned names within pro/engineer are given unique names consisting of the pro/engineer internal id number. use setup > nameto name the entities. these names override the id names.
id_nameoassigns unique names consisting of the pro/engineer internal id number to step entities.
